PUBLIC NOTICE: Johnstown Comprehensive Plan Draft ready for review

2019 Comprehensive Plan

At the beginning of the year, the Village decided it was time to once more update the Strategic Plan. An up to date plan helps the Village establish a vision for the future, address community challenges and support future projects. Working with Burton Planning Services and members of the public, the Village of Johnstown Comprehensive Plan was written. The Village Comprehensive Plan will act as a toolbox for Village administrators and decision makers as the community continues to grow.

The Johnstown community was instrumental in the writing of the 2019 Comprehensive Plan. Many residents, business owners and others attended three public engagement sessions held by the Village. At these meetings, members of the public were encouraged to share their ideas and goals for the future of the community as well as current challenges Johnstown needs to address. A steering committee was also formed with fourteen members of the Johnstown community. The steering committee was able to delve deeply into all parts of the plan to ensure that it was addressing the needs of the Village.

As of November 2019, a draft of the plan has been completed. The Village encourages members of the public to review the plan using the link provided below. The 2019 Village of Johnstown Comprehensive Plan will be presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission on November 12, 2019 at 6:30 and to Village Council on November 19, 2019 at 6:30. Both meetings will be held in Council Chambers at 599 S. Main Street.
