Utility Laborer

The Village of Johnstown Service Department has an opening for a Utility Laborer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and the ability to obtain an Ohio Class B CDL within 18 months of hire. Must interact with all Village employees and the public in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS: May be required to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift a minimum of eighty (80) pounds. Job duties include running lab tests (BOD, pH, NH3, DO, solids, and collection of other samples for outside testing). Must be able to perform maintenance and minor repair of equipment. General knowledge of lift stations and distribution systems is preferred. May be required to assist with street and other distribution systems work as needed. Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time including water line maintenance and repairs, sewer line maintenance and repairs, mowing grass, tree cutting, snow plowing, building maintenance, and other similar tasks as necessary.

SUPERVISION: All work is performed under the supervision of the Service Director.

SHIFT:  Friday-Monday            7AM-5PM

COMPENSATION: Starting pay is $14.50-$16.00 per hour, plus benefits.

Full pay range up to $20.72/hour.

The Village of Johnstown Service Department has an opening for a Class II Water Operator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and the ability to obtain an Ohio Class B CDL within 18 months of hire. Must interact with all Village employees and the public in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check. Hold a Class II Ohio EPA license.

  1. Monday-Friday                  8AM-4PM
  2. Friday-Monday                  7AM-5PM

COMPENSATION: Starting pay is $18.00-$23.00 per hour, plus benefits.

Full pay range up to $26.24.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS/PUBLIC NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Sealed bids will be received at the Village Hall, 599 S. Main Street, Suite A, Johnstown, Ohio 43031 until 10:00 a.m. on June 6, 2019 and will be opened and read immediately thereafter for the S. KASSON STREET – PHASE I OPINION OF PROBABLE CONSTRUCTION COST: $392,000.00 COMPLETION DATE:  SEPTEMBER 30, 2019 OPWC FUNDED PROJECT

Bids must be in accordance with specifications and on forms available from CT Consultants, Inc., 8150 Sterling Court, Mentor, Ohio 44060 at a non-refundable cost of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) picked up or One Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars ($125.00) mailed.

The bid specifications, drawings, plan holders list, addenda, and other bid information may be obtained via the internet at www.ctconsultants.com/bidinfo/index.html .  The bidder shall be responsible to check for Addenda and obtain same from the web site.   All bidders are required to attend a mandatory Pre-bid Conference on May 28, 2019 at  10:00 a.m. at Village Hall,  599 S. Main Street, Suite A, Johnstown, Ohio 43031.  Failure to attend the Pre-bid Conference will subject the bidders’ proposal to be considered non-responsive.

All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required.

DOMESTIC STEEL USE REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE APPLY TO THIS PROJECT. COPIES OF SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE CAN BE OBTAINED FROM THE OFFICE OF THE OHIO FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION COMMISSION.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUBPOENAS – RITA TAX DELINQUENCY PROGRAM

Administrative subpoenas will be mailed today to taxpayers that neglected to file a municipal income tax return for Johnstown municipality.  All of the taxpayers that will receive the subpoenas were first issued a non-filing notice and were given an opportunity to respond before a subpoena was issued.    

Taxpayers can avoid an appearance by simply efiling returns at: www.ritaohio.com, mailing or faxing to RITA the documents listed on the administrative subpoena.
