We are currently seeking individuals to fill the role of Police Chief with the Village of Johnstown, Ohio Police Department. The Village’s current Chief retired after serving 24 years as Police Chief and 49 years as an Officer. This position requires leading a department of 14 civilian, sworn and volunteer employees, taking charge of an annual budget of 1 million dollars, and being a leader in the community. The next Johnstown Police Chief will be an active member of the community by becoming involved in various civic organizations as well as participating in department activities such as community patrol, town hall meetings and other innovative ways to connect with businesses and residents. Per Village Charter 6.03 the Police Chief shall be appointed by the Village Manager and shall serve at the pleasure of the Village Manager.
